The InterContinental Hotel Sydney was filled with colour, energy, and heart for the 2025 Kids4Kids Empowerment Gala last month. Led by children aged 4 to 12, the unique event brought together over 300 guests to celebrate the theme: “I Can – The things you can’t do, don’t define what you CAN.”
In the lead-up to the gala, participating children attended a Para-archery masterclass at Sydney Olympic Park Archery Centre, guided by Australian Para Archery Head Coach Ricci Cheah. They trained alongside Paralympic archers including Imalia Oktrininda and Ameera Lee, as well as Matilda Mobbs and Garry Robinson, who shared inspiring stories of resilience and adaptation.
Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Cole and aspiring Winter Paralympian Dave Miln were honoured guests, delivering moving speeches about the power of mindset. The night featured a torch-lighting ceremony, along with musical and dance performances by the children. Fashion designer Sarah Lloyd also attended to support the event’s inclusive message.
As Dave Miln noted, “What makes the Kids4Kids Gala so special is that it’s entirely led by children. They’re proving that you don’t have to wait until you’re grown up to show leadership, resilience and the power to make a difference. That message connects directly with Paralympics Australia and its athletes—we know that overcoming challenges, finding joy in the struggle and inspiring others can start at any age. Tonight was about kids reminding us that resilience is a choice and that’s the same spirit we carry onto the snow, the track, or the field.”
The event raised vital funds to support Paralympics Australia and promote inclusion in sport. Special thanks go to the young organisers, families, schools, sponsors and especially N1 Holdings, the event’s Gold Sponsor.
The Kids4Kids Gala is a powerful reminder that when communities unite with purpose, they can create real change—in the playground, in sport, and beyond.
