All athletes will be guaranteed 2 tickets per session through the Family and Friends program however please note if you purchase additional tickets these will not be seated together.

However, please note that tickets purchased as part of the AF&F Program (coordinated by PA) will not be seated together with those purchased through general public sales.

Hotel Sonne Sol

Located 30 minutes from the town of Cortina, in the village of Dobbiaco. Hotel Sonne Sol is a hotel recommended to Family & Friends to book as it is a hotel used regularly by team members whilst in Italy.

2 person Occupancy – Double Room Superior/Deluxe Superior: €290 per person, per night
3 person Occupancy – Junior Suite: €240 per person, per night
4-5 person Occupancy – Suite: €290 per person, per night

Hotel Villa Meli

Located 5 minutes from Latemar Ski Center in the village of Predazzo. The perfect base with a 5 minute walk from the town centre ready for the Australian Paralympic Team family & friends. The following room options are available during the Games period, all including breakfast:

1 person Occupancy – Comfort Room: €275 per person, per night.
2 person Occupancy – Double Room: €250 per person, per night.

Please note: An additional €3 city tax per person, per day applies. Availability of Comfort Rooms is limited. Once fully booked, the next available option will be Superior Double Rooms. If you are interested in these rates, please email [email protected].

Corso Italia

These accommodation options are all within Cortina specially the pedestrian zone. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) European Training Centre (ETC) has been able to assist us in providing a discounted Family & Friends accommodation option. Please reach out to the Family & Friends email if you are interested in these options and we can connect you to the property owners to negotiate a rate.

Hotel Argentina

Current availability for Hotel Argentina is around 20 rooms (varying occupancy), the pricing is as below – Rate per night including breakfast:

TRAVEL ADVICE & VISITING ITALY

Paralympics Australia are working closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Federal Police to ensure you have the most up-to-date travel information for Italy.

DFAT has provided some timely reminders for any Australian thinking about travelling to Italy to support our athletes:

Check in regularly with the smart traveller advice for Italy Page. Currently travel advice is a level 1 (to exercise normal safety precautions)
Understand what and how DFAT can assist if required on the Consular Service Charter
Check your passports validity as it can take up to six weeks to process a new passport. You will need to have at least 6 months left on your passport from the date your trip ends.

There is so much to experience in the amazing cities of Italy in addition to the Paralympic Games. Italia.IT is a great place to start when looking for activities, restaurants, accessibility and travel information.

MERCHANDISE:

Paralympics Australia have worked with New Balance to create the Australian long-jacket available to pre-order until 30^th September 2025. These Jackets will be available to collect from the Mob Hotel (Hotel Meuble Villa Neve) in Cortina or alternatively home delivery to Australian based supporters.

Family and Friends also have the opportunity to be able to personalise these jackets.

Q&A:

What is PA booking for Family & Friends?
PA can provide discounted rates at Hotel Villa Meli (Predazzo). Reach out to the Family & Friends email if you are interested in this hotel. We are currently also looking into further accommodation options for F&F’s in Cortina and will share updates as we receive them.

I am travelling to Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, what do I need to book?
You will need to book all travel arrangements yourself, outside of accommodation at Hotel Villa Meli. All travel arrangements include but not limited to flights, ground transport, food, sightseeing tours.

I have booked accommodation in Dobbiaco, how do I get to Cortina?
Paralympics Australia will not be offering any transport options such as a bus or shuttle service for Family & Friends to and from Dobbiaco. You will need to hire a car to transfer to and from Dobbiaco to Cortina.

Where can I meet Australian Team athletes at the games?
You can meet athletes at Hotel Villa Neve however there are no restaurants or private room facilities at the hotel, and you will need to visit nearby restaurants for meals and catch-ups.

What events are happening at games time?
The Team Reception is being held on the 5^th March (day before Opening Ceremony). Outside of the Team Reception, there will be no other Paralympics Australia hosted Family & Friends events.

When do I book our flights?
Flights booked by Family & Friends prior to athletes selections and team announcements are done at individuals discretion. PA cannot provide any insight into if an athlete will be selected to the Australian Paralympic Team (APT) or not. Paralympics Australia follows the qualification dates in which are set out by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to allow athletes to reach the qualification requirements. Following this, Paralympics Australia will go through the process of nomination and selection of athletes to the APT.
