The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (Brisbane 2032) has released its Games Vision, a significant step taken by Games Hosts to guide the delivery of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

More than 6,000 Australians had their say in developing the Games Vision and commitments for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including almost 3,000 community members from right across Queensland.

The Games Vision for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been revealed as:

Believe.  Belong.  Become.  Brisbane 2032.

The engagement was the largest consultation process Brisbane 2032 has undertaken to date, with the outcome delivering a memorable statement and series of commitments behind it.

The Games Vision was unveiled at a launch event in Brisbane with more than a dozen councils across the state tuning in for the announcement, reflecting the way communities will benefit from the Games in 2032.

Brisbane 2032 President, Andrew Liveris praised the support and energy of communities right across Queensland, Australia and beyond in having their say and putting forward their ideas during consultation.

“Our Games Vision has significant symbolism behind it, with the genesis of each word acting as our north star towards the delivery of our Games in 2032 and an exciting era beyond,” Mr Liveris said.

“I want to thank communities across Queensland and Australia for their input into the development of a Games Vision and commitments that typify who we are and what we represent.

“When our time arrives on the world stage, our local belief, grit and spirit will shine through, our sense of belonging will be celebrated and shared.  And we will rise to become an even greater city, state and nation to visit, invest in and be part of, thanks to the gift of the Games.”

Paralympics Australian President Grant Mizens said the vision recognised the scale and significance of hosting both the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and sets the expectation for what Brisbane must deliver.

“This vision is clear, confident and uncompromising in its ambition,” Mr Mizens said

“Importantly, it captures the unique power of Paralympic sport and the impact our athletes can have on the nation and the world.

“Paralympics Australia is fully committed to bringing this vision to life. It aligns with our own strategic direction and with the type of Games we believe Australia should host. We’re ready to play our role as a Games Delivery Partner to ensure the Paralympic component is not only delivered to the highest standard but sets new benchmarks for all future hosts to aspire to.

“The work behind this vision has been rigorous. People have been heard, not just consulted. Their experiences and ambitions, including those of Paralympians, have shaped something that feels honest, ambitious and globally relevant.”

International Paralympic Committee Executive Director, Paralympic Games, Colleen Wrenn said: “Brisbane 2032’s Games Vision is incredibly exciting and motivating, it is straight forward, highly memorably, easy to understand and extremely powerful,” Ms Wrenn said.

“The five words stand for so much and underline Brisbane 2032’s passion and commitment to deliver transformational Paralympic Games that will not just unite and inspire Queenslanders and Australians, but the whole world.”
