Paralympics Australia and Harvey Norman have re-committed to a commercial partnership that will help drive Australia’s Paralympic campaign at the Milano Cortina Games next month and beyond.
Harvey Norman’s support for the nation’s Winter Paralympians extends a partnership in which the Australian-owned retail giant has been a Team Partner and Official Retailer of Paralympics Australia and the Australian Paralympic Team since before the Games in Rio in 2016.
Throughout that time, the two organisations have worked powerfully together to amplify the voices and stories of Paralympians and aspiring Para athletes, and to foster a culture of inclusion and accessibility across Australian sport.
It has been executed through athlete engagement, compelling storytelling, digital and social media initiatives, and corporate education and engagement through the Para Tough Cup. Across five Para Tough Cup events over the past three years, presented by Harvey Norman and Paralympic Australia, more than 600 participants have experienced the high energy corporate challenge that combines teamwork, resilience and fundraising efforts in support of Para athletes.
Harvey Norman has also recently appointed Paralympic track and field gold medallist Madison de Rozario to a key role advising on various diversity and inclusion opportunities, including in recruitment, corporate communications and accessibility and disability awareness.
“It’s incredibly exciting to announce the continuation of our long-standing relationship with Harvey Norman,” Paralympics Australia Chief Executive Cameron Murray said.
“Our organisations have collaborated exceptionally well over the years to create engaging and informative content and campaigns that elevate our para-athletes and the values of the Paralympic Movement.
“Through this powerful partnership, Harvey Norman is showing it is not only a great Australian company but it’s also helping to create a better Australia by showcasing our incredible athletes, who inspire millions of people.
“This announcement is a wonderful boost for our aspiring team members as they prepare to represent Australia at the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games next month.”
Among the joint Winter Paralympics initiatives set for national rollout is an exciting campaign featuring Para alpine skiers Georgia Gunew and her sighted guide Ethan Jackson, and Para biathletes Taryn Dickens and her sighted guide Lynn Maree Cullen – as well as Dickens’ assistance dog, Gigi.
Harvey Norman CEO, Katie Page, “As we look toward the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games beginning March 6, Harvey Norman is incredibly proud to announce our partnership with the Australian Winter Paralympic Team – an essential milestone in the inspirational, decade-long partnership with Paralympics Australia.
“With the Australian Paralympic Winter Team being officially announced later this week, to each of you selected for the team, every congratulations, you will achieve the ultimate recognition of your athletic talent and prowess, your grit and determination. When you are chosen to represent Australia at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, you will forever be an Australian Paralympian.
“On behalf of everyone at Harvey Norman, good luck in Milan and enjoy every minute. We will be proudly watching from home.”
