Jasmine Haydon

Jasmine Haydon recently joined the Boccia Australia team as Jamieson Leeson’s ramp operator.

Being a ramp assistant means Jasmine is unable to look at the balls or talk, which she says is a big challenge for someone who loves to talk.

Jamieson instructs Jasmine as to where to move the ramp and what ball to play when they’re in competition.

She first became involved in the sport around eight months ago after meeting with Jamieson.

The occupational therapy student says she loves being able to help Jamieson compete in her sport and achieve her goals – with the pair already bringing home medals together.

While it may be a new partnership, the duo share a strong bond on and off the court and are firm friends.

Off the Boccia court, Jasmine is also a support worker, who says her greatest sporting moment so far, is playing in New Zealand representing Indigenous Australia in Oztag, representing her country and her culture.

A fun fact about the vivacious New South Welshwoman is that she’s a twin who has her own birthday.
