Sporting Career Highlight
Representing Australia with the Pararoos for the first time in Canada in 2008
Thomas Goodman first pulled on the green and gold in 2008 when he represented Australia with the Pararoos in Canada.
The South Australian isn’t the only sporting Goodman in the family, with younger sister Molly Goodman a part of the Australian Women’s Rowing Team. Molly, a national champion, dual Olympian and a world champion, providing inspiration to the equally determined Thomas, spurred on by watching her compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Thomas turned to Para-triathlon on a whim, he signed up for a local triathlon in Alice Springs and ended up loving it. After competing in several, he decided to move back to South Australia and find a coach who could help him compete at the highest level.
In 2023, he became a first-time Oceania champion in Stockton, New South Wales.
When Thomas isn’t training, you can find him spending time with his family or walking his dogs. He hopes to still be competing come Brisbane 2032 and be involved in the development of the next generation of athletes.
