Grant Allen was born and raised in the small country town of Auburn, South Australia. Growing up on a small farm, he rode BMX, digging jumps, having fun and always pushing the limits.

Grant moved to Adelaide after finishing high school and started working in a bike shop, extending his riding experience to mountain bikes. He travelled overseas to work with bike brands shooting parts for mountain bike films and competing in events such as the Red Bull Rampage in the Utah desert.

In 2011 Grant was preparing to head back to Red Bull Rampage. While out riding, he overshot a large jump and crashed, suffering a spinal cord injury. After five weeks in rehab, he says he got “back to normal life, albeit as a wheelchair user”.
