The Australian Paralympic Team has gained a major boost on the eve of 200 days until the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, with RACV Resorts joining the Paralympics Australia sponsorship family as an Official Partner.

The announcement was made by RACV Executive General Manager Leisure Craig Peachey and Paralympics Australia Head of Commercial, Communications and Brand Cameron Murray at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, one of RACV’s premier hotel destinations.

The sponsorship will run for three years, incorporating the Paris Paralympics later this year and the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Milano-Cortina.

“We’re thrilled to welcome RACV Resorts as an Official Partner of Paralympics Australia and the Australian Paralympic Team,” Mr Murray said.

“RACV Resorts, part of the Australian-owned RACV group, has nine resort locations around Australia and I’m particularly excited about the way our existing and potential Paralympians will benefit from the localised support this partnership will provide. In addition, our organisation will also benefit from RACV Resorts being our preferred training, event and conference facility.”

RACV Managing Director and CEO Neil Taylor said: “Our Aussie Para-athletes show incredible commitment in the pursuit of their goals on the world stage, and we’re proudly committed to supporting them to achieve their best.”

Mr Peachey added: “We’re looking forward to drawing upon the great wealth of knowledge at Paralympics Australia and among the athletes to continue to improve the accessibility of our resorts in Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania so that we can provide an exceptional experience for all our guests, including sporting teams and clubs that may wish to stay with us.”

A key part of the partnership is the commitment from RACV Resorts to work with Paralympics Australia’s fundraising programs and initiatives, including helping to share the inspiring stories of our Paralympians with a wider audience. Fundraising and sponsorship are critical to Paralympics Australia’s ability to send Australian teams to the Paralympic Games.

“One of the great things about representing Australia at the Paralympics is feeling the love and support from everyone back home,” three-time Paralympic swimming medallist Rowan Crothers said.

“That includes the incredible support we receive from Paralympics Australia’s partners. I’m delighted to help launch this new partnership, adding significantly to our campaign and the support network around us.”
