A Statement From Paralympics Australia Chief Executive Officer Cameron Murray.

Paralympics Australia acknowledges the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s recent decision in the matter relating to the PR1 Men’s Single Sculls A-Final at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. We respect the authority of CAS as the ultimate authority of sport-related disputes.

During proceedings to date, PA was satisfied that World Rowing acted in accordance with the procedures and principles that protected the integrity of competition at the Paralympic Games and ensured a fair result which included a bronze medal to Australian Erik Horrie.

Consistent, transparent application of rules is essential to protecting athletes and the fairness across Paralympic sports, including rowing.

We will carefully review the full reasoning provided by CAS and await further advice from World Rowing and our colleagues at Rowing Australia.

Paralympics Australia remains committed to ensuring fair, consistent decision-making and safeguarding the interests of all Paralympic athletes.

No further comment will be made until this advice is received.
