With just seven weeks to go until the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships Trials, 31 Para-swimmers descended on the Gold Coast, QLD, for a relay camp.

The camp provided prospective Pan Pacific Para-swimming Championships team members with the opportunity to bond, as well as participate in performance analysis and testing, and information sessions. It was initiated by Mentor Coach Jan Cameron before her sudden passing.

The Australian Dolphins swim team has a rich history in relays, and camps like these ensure they remain an important strategic focus for high performance.

At the London 2012 Paralympic Games, the Dolphins won three gold and one bronze medal, and at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, they won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, two relays will be added to the Para-swimming program, taking the total number of potential podium results to seven – therefore, relays will be a priority for the team moving forward.
