Team Australia will arrive home from Nottwil, Switzerland with 20 medals, the third most of any nation, after a stunning four days of competition at the 2017 World Para-athletics Junior Championships.

Collecting five gold, six silver and nine bronze medals, the 12-strong team also achieved 16 personal bests.

Leading the charge was Greg Luff (T34, NSW), who won a trio of gold medals in the T33-34 100m, 200m and 400m. He was joined on the podium by teammate Nathan Donaldson (T34, Qld), the winner of the silver medal in the 400m, and bronze in the 100m and 200m.

Alissa Jordaan (T47, NSW) and Ari Gesini (T38, ACT) were both crowned world champions in the long jump, with Jordaan also picking up silver in the T42-47 200m and bronze in the T42-47 100m.

After finishing second behind Gesini in the long jump, Sam Walker (T38, Tas) won bronze in the T35-38 100m, with Will Howard (T37, Qld) and Kailyn Joseph (T37, NSW) adding to Australia’s bronze medal haul in the T35-38 800m and long jump, respectively.

Paralympian Tamsin Colley (T36, NSW) recovered from her sixth place finish in her T36 200m heat at Rio 2016 to win two silver medals, while Sam Rizzo (T54, Vic) took silver in the T51-54 400m, and bronze in the T51-54 100m, 800m and 1500m.
