Bio

Fun, energetic and determined, Jenny Blow has come a long way in her very short goalball career.

In less than a year since first playing goalball in 2009, Jenny represented Australia at the 2010 IBSA World Championships, where Australia finished eighth. Jenny dreams of competing in London and is looking further still towards Rio de Janeiro in 2016, where she hopes the team will be in a position to medal.

Jenny feels immense satisfaction when blocking or scoring a goal and brings energy and fun to the team when it is most needed.

Her discovery of a rock shaped like the lucky egg from the film Cool Runnings while the team was competing at the 2011 IBSA World Cup in Turkey, lifted the team’s spirits and it has since become a pre-game ritual that Jenny must hold the rock and quote the movie before every big game.

Studying to become an English and drama teacher, Jenny hopes to fulfil her strong interest in theatre and drama by spreading the arts to students in rural areas, where she also hopes she can find her dream man.

As well as goalball, she enjoys playing netball and going to the beach and credits her sister as the most influential person in her life.

Jenny is a big fan of the TV show Glee as well as pop star Miley Cyrus, who she has seen in concert with some of her fellow team members.
