Bio

Elise Kerle has Australian Women’s Goalball Head Coach Georgina Kenaghan to thank for introducing her to goalball after she visited her high school in 2008 to promote the sport.

Elise was encouraged to try goalball and having come from a sporting family, where her great-grandfather captained the Australian men’s hockey team, Elise’s determined nature saw her commit to the sport.

Her first major competition was at the 2010 National Goalball Championships, where she was the only person to score against the dominant Queensland side and the same year, Elise was named on the Australian squad but is yet to compete internationally.

Still at school, Elise enjoys playing soccer as well as exercising her artistic side. She looks up to her team mates Jenny Blow and Tyan Taylor as inspiration for being the best goalballer she can and in her spare time loves to bake cakes.
