Ben Tudhope became Australia’s youngest ever Winter Paralympian when he was selected for Sochi 2014 at the age of just 14. In fact, Tudhope was the youngest competitor from any nation at those Games.
The Sochi experience was a great launching pad for the Sydneysider, who won his first international medal, a silver in the men’s banked slalom SB-LL2 at the 2017-2018 World Cup in Treble Cone, New Zealand.
Earlier in 2017, Tudhope had become part of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program, which included being mentored by former Australian rugby union captain Nick Farr-Jones.
Primed for success at the PyeongChang 2018 Games, just 2.17 seconds stood between Tudhope and his first Paralympic medal. He clocked 51.68 in the men’s banked slalom SB-LL2, while Matti Suur-Hamari (FIN), the bronze medallist, completed the course in 49.51.

At his third Winter Games at Beijing 2022, Tudhope was named co-captain of the Australian Paralympic Team alongside Melissa Perrine. At the Games, Tudhope secured his first Paralympic medal when he clinched the bronze in the Men’s Para-Snowboard Cross SB LL2 event.
