The newly formed Workplace Safety Alliance is an opportunity for businesses across the country to support the Australian Paralympic Committee and spread the vital message of safety at work.
With the joint goal to not only save lives in the Australian workforce, but to see our athlete’s life dreams become reality, involvement with the Alliance is a vital component in supporting our Paralympians in their journey.
The Workplace Safety Alliance provides an opportunity for member organisations to position themselves as an organisation that believes in Australian Paralympic athletes and their unique attributes of hard work, mateship and determination.
In partnership with the Safety Institute of Australia, the Alliance helps educate employees on the personal implications of not being safe at work and home, as well askey issues including inclusiveness, bullying and equal opportunity.
Our Paralympians are experienced speakers and share touching personal stories of their own obstacles and triumphs.
Three-time Paralympic basketballer, captain of the Australian Rollers and advocate for workplace safety Brad Ness, says the number one priority in any workplace should be avoiding risk and having workers and management work together to achieve this.
“If I had the choice of waking up and going to work, or waking up in hospital like I did after my accident, I know which one I would choose every time. Work safety needs to come first; think it, talk it, work it.”
