Paralympian of the Year Awards

The Australian Paralympian of the Year Awards were held on Monday 18th October 2010 at the Waterview Convention Centre in Bicentennial Park, on a night that marked the 10th Anniversary of the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. The occasion also commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the first ever Paralympic Games in Rome 1960, with seven of the eight surviving members of the first Australian Team gathering to celebrate the night.

Alpine Skier Cameron Rahles-Rahbula was handed the top honour, being named the 2010 Paralympian of the Year following his efforts at the Vancouver Winter Paralympic Games earlier in the year where he won two bronze medals. He joins an esteemed list of winners including Louise Sauvage, Priya Cooper, Siobhan Paton, Michael Milton, Tim Sullivan and Matthew Cowdrey.
