Table Tennis classification

What are the classes?
Classes 1 – 10:  Players in classes 1 to 5 compete in wheelchairs, whilst players in classes 6 to 10 compete standing. During classification, players are assessed on their range of movement, muscle strength, movement restrictions, balance in the wheelchair and the ability to handle the racquet.
Class 11: Players with an intellectual disability.

How do I get classified?
Athletes should seek a classification in their relevant impairment type through the relevant organisations below.

Athletes with a physical impairment: Classification is managed nationally by Table Tennis Australia.

Athletes with an intellectual impairment: Classification is managed nationally by AUSRAPID and supported by Table Tennis Australia. You can find more information at AUSRAPID.
