Career Highlights

Selection for the 2013 IPC World Championships

Greatest Moment

Selection to represent Australia twice in one year

Nicole was targeted at the 2013 Australian Championships to transfer to shot put due to her height and arm span when she was seen by scouts as she ran in the 1500m event.

Since the transition, the South Sydney local has been coached by Karyne Di Marco and Bree Clement, and has competed in her new event at the World Championships in 2013 where she placed 6th and 2015 where she placed 7th.

Athletics isn’t the only sporting discipline Nicole is skilled in, she has also represented Australia in skiing and basketball as part of the Special Olympic Team and at the INASFid Global Games. The opportunity to represent Australia at both these events in the same year is one of Nicole’s sporting highlights.

Outside of training to reach her own sporting goals of making it to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Nicole works as a fitness coach to help her clients reach their own goals. A qualified personal trainer, as of 2014 she has completed a Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma in Fitness.

Listing her hobbies as playing sport, travelling overseas and hanging out with family and friends, competing in the Paralympic Games sounds like the perfect adventure for Nicole.

Before a competition, Nicole likes to make sure she is wearing an old pair of socks for luck.

While she is set to compete in Rio, her ultimate goal is to be selected to compete in both a summer and winter Paralympic Games.
