On 29 August, 2011, the Governor-General attended the launch of the Australian Paralympic Committee's Paralympic Hall of Fame at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. The APC paid tribute to three inaugural inductees - Louise Sauvage (Female Athlete), Frank Ponta (Male Athlete) and Sir George Bedbrook (Associate).

The occasion also marked One Year to Go until the London 2012 Paralympic Games, which Ms Bryce also celebrated with athletes hoping to make the 2012 Australian Paralympic Team.
